Dealing with the Hand and Brick 29
After a couple of days of taking it easy on my stitched up hand, I decided to give pruning a try. Unfortunately my hand is still to sensitive to prune. Although, I am able to use the big loppers and go through the vineyard and pre-prune the vines. It is strange how we adapt to the loss of usability of our body parts. For instance, I have learned how to pick up a case of wine, carry it across the room and restack it on another pallet, all with one hand. It did not come natural though, a couple of cases were nearly dropped. Typing is also a major feat; I can assume standard typing position with my right hand but I have to use the “hunt and peck” method for my left. This was very slow at first, but as my left hand takes over a larger percentage of the keyboard, my typing speed is almost back to normal.
Tammy and I went to lunch at Brick 29 today. By far the best restaurant in Nampa and one of the best in the valley. Tammy and I split the Meatloaf Sandwich and the BLAT. Both were so amazingly good I would have eaten what was on Tammy’s plate as well if I wasn’t so full. I didn’t want to stop. If you are a bacon fan at all or if you even like bacon a little or even if you absolutley hate bacon and wouldn’t touch it if it were the last thing on Earth, YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS. Write it down: Brick 29, BLAT. So good! The Carrot Curry soup was delicious too.
