I’ve been swapping the evenings between our Rose, Syringa, Riesling, plain old H20 to stay hydrated, some micro-brews, and summer brings my favorite dessert: Lemon sorbet! Just a teeny bit of this refreshing treat is enough to make your sweet tooth (or tart tooth) happy. Last night I mixed it with a splash of pomegranite/cranberry juice. So good. If you’d like something new to try in your dinner, try cooking up some in-season asparagus with some crushed garlic, olive oil, and 1/4 cup Indian Creek Syrah and 2-3 TBLS sugar. Let it simmer away to a partial reduction (about 10 – 15 minutes) and voila, a different idea to change the same ole’ asparagus dish up.
