got our climb on

Wednesday Mike and I headed up to Riggins (three hours) took a play-day rock climbing. The weather was perfect and it was great to hang out with our friend Mike Bockino. They are doing road construction on the Salmon river road which is where we climb so the only times they’ll let you thru is before 8 am, from 1-2 on certain days and from 5:30 to 8:30 at night. Mike was coming from Moscow so he left super early yesterday morning to be able to get thru before 8am. Hardcore Mike! It seems like this road closure is a nuisance for locals and they probably aren’t too psyched about a new road going in either as that will bring more traffic and less seclusion up that way. But on the other hand, all of the death stories I’ve heard about that road have been locals….so…I think the new road will be a good thing in the long run.
