Meet Travis
Meet Travis, our intern, and a really cool dude. Travis is a professional dancer from New York and moved to Boise when he was selected to work for Trey McIntyre Project. He’s danced since he was a child and trained at the Ballet Arts Theatre, Usdan Center for the Performing Arts, New York State Summer School of the Arts, and Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. His professional career has included Ballet San Jose, Alberta Ballet, Smuin Ballet and most recently, Trey McIntyre Project. Travis has decided he’s had a great dancing career and has a desire to see what else is out there. He’s worked in the wine industry while in CA and is now experiencing the farming & harvesting side of things here this fall. We are grateful to have Travis helping out. We had no idea when we confirmed the internship what a smart, perceptive and hard-working guy he is! Lucky us! Travis has been a blessing to have helping us crush this year since we literally got slammed with grapes just the first week of harvest (and he didn’t run screaming to the Kuna hills after we had him help with bird-netting!) Oh, and hopefully he’s learning a few things too. I can tell Mike’s enjoyed having a companion (besides me) on the crush pad to share his knowledge and harvest excitement with.
Although he’s closing the novel of his life that was dance, we think a background of dance & music is a great way for Travis to merge into winemaking and growing grapes…a recipe with technical detail, history & tradition, an art form, passion, hard work and rewards. Ups & downs. Intentions, haphazardness, beauty, chances, risks.
Cheers to Travis, Mallory and Roux!
P.S. Mama Mui loves having another mouth to feed!
